Information technology (IT) is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data or information. IT is typically used within the context of education operations, business operations as opposed to personal or entertainment technologies. IT is considered to be a subset of information and communications technology (ICT). An information technology system (IT system) is generally an information system, a communications system, or, more specifically speaking, a computer system _ including all hardware, software, and peripheral equipment operated by a limited group of users.
In GTI (Putao), there is no course for Information and Technology Engineering (IT). However, many short- term courses concerned with Information and Technology which are needed and important for the local development in Putao district such as Basic Computer Courses and Photoshop-CS3 Courses have been continuously opening and training not only to the teacher in school but also to the local people. In addition to, the teacher in the department of Information and Technology are helping to work for departmental affairs which have IT problems or difficulties, and in making questions for employing and filling a vacancy in the IT department, in the accountants department, in the staff affairs department, and so on.
